Q：在決定尋找 AAS 幫助之前，你遇到最大嘅困難係是？
I was always clear about the field I wanted to study, but I struggled between Architecture and Urban Planning at the beginning. I was not fully sure which direction suited me better.
My agent suggested that I study Architecture and Environment, as it would give me a broader foundation and more flexibility. This choice allowed me to explore both areas and gave me another opportunity to refine my direction and make changes later at the master’s level.
The main difficulty for me was choosing the right university, especially when comparing university rankings and different entry requirements. There was a lot of information online, which was sometimes overwhelming and inconsistent.
I also had limited understanding of the application process and needed to consider long-term plans, such as career opportunities and possible migration pathways in Australia. Overall, I needed clear guidance to help me choose the right university and plan my future studies.

For me, the master’s application period was quite stressful. At that time, there were many different opinions around me. Some people suggested that I should return to Hong Kong to develop my career, while others felt that since I had already spent so much time studying in Australia, it would be better to continue, as the sunk cost would otherwise be too high. This made it difficult for me to make a decision.
After completing my undergraduate studies, I finished my internship outside Australia and then returned to Sydney for my graduation ceremony. At that point, my student visa was close to expiring, with only about two weeks remaining. Within this very short time, I needed to apply to suitable universities, secure an offer, and complete my visa application, which caused a lot of pressure.

Although the waiting time for university offers felt long, my agent Abby was very professional and responsive. She helped me resolve the main issues quickly, and I received my offer in less than two weeks. This gave me great peace of mind and allowed me to focus on my visa application and personal matters such as relocation and daily arrangements, without worrying about my university application.
In my first year at university, I stayed in student accommodation. It was a very good transition for me, especially as I had just arrived and did not know anyone or the local environment. Living in student housing helped me make new friends and adapt more easily to university life and living overseas.
During my first year, my visa and related arrangements were handled with support, which allowed me to focus more on my studies and settling in. Because of this experience, when I later applied for my visa on my own, I realized how careful I needed to be. The process required me to read all the information closely and fully understand each option before making any decisions.

Have a clear goal and do not change it easily. Stay strong in your direction, but also stay flexible and adapt when needed.
