Mr. Steve
Steve is a New Zealander with a bachelor’s degree in Music. He has worked in Hong Kong since 2015, with additional projects supporting secondary schools across New Zealand. His teaching experience also extends to online work with students based in Hong Kong, Macau, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. He is accredited by both IELTS and PTE.

“I believe three ideas that define my teaching approach would be focused, informed, and student-centred. In my years of work teaching across the various elements of English, I have come to understand that different students have different learning styles, and numerous combinations of strengths and weaknesses. It is my opinion that it is essential for a teacher to modify their approach to meet the students’ needs in the most effective way they can.Language tests all have slightly different standards and a variety of methods for assessment. It is vital that the teacher clearly knows what these are, so they can work to assist the student towards their final goal, regardless of where they might be starting from. I do my best to tailor the materials, and the way they are delivered, to help the student in the best way I can.The ultimate goal here is to customise the teaching to the needs of the student, so they can realise their dream of studying overseas.“
Mr. Alex
Originally from the United Kingdom, I have a BA in English as well as a PGCE in Education. To enhance my teaching abilities, I have gone on to acquire both TESOL and CELTA certification, as well as IB and OET credentials. Furthered by my wealth of teaching experience in Australia, the UK, India, Thailand, China and Hong Kong, I am able to draw on all these experiences in order to help my students achieve their targets.

“If I were to define my teaching style in three words, it would be flexible, nurturing and knowledgeable. Throughout my extensive teaching experience I have been fortunate enough to work with a variety of students with various needs and goals. It is through this that I have realised that a teacher needs to adapt their style to allow each student to realise their full potential.
Since most language tests have a set requirement in order to achieve a band or particular level, the finish line is in the same place. However, it is the starting point that varies and this is why I ensure that my lessons are planned out to suit the skills of the individual that I am working with.We often meet students that are struggling to achieve their goals and may be feeling that their dream of studying abroad is slipping away. It is from helping them succeed in pursuing their dreams that gives me the most joy.”
